Patrick Howell spent three and a half years researching the Players’ extensive archives, including play lists, programmes, posters and photographs and conducted many interviews with past and present members. The book is full of intrigue, on and off-stage drama, humour, sadness, considerable frustration and much more. It contains over 300 pages and 74 photographs spanning nearly 100 years.  

It will be of great interest to anyone connected with the Players, who has an interest in the history of amateur theatre or who follows the history of the Stroud area.
