Daphne Neville presents
'Beatrix Potter Looks Back': 16th August 2008
Daphne was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic and is an accomplished actress, author, speaker and television personality. She has cared for otters at her family's mill in Gloucestershire for the past 20 years and talks on average once a week on Otters around the world and her own otters in particular.
In this amusing and entertaining presentation she plays the part of Beatrix Potter as a married woman in the Lake District, looking back on her Tales of Peter Rabbit, Jeremy Fisher, etc. and why she wrote her 'little books'. Daphne is kindly donating the majority of her fee to the Cotswold Players’ Building Fund.

Gordon Peters has written a book on his life in show business –‘FROM CHOIR BOY TO COMIC’ – and has recorded several comedy songs on CD and cassette. He had his own TV series ‘The Gordon Peters Show’ on BBC 1 and appeared in Dads Army, Are You Being Served, One Foot in the Grave, Hi Di Hi, Tales from the Crypt, Little Britain and My Family. He is an accomplished comedy entertainer having over the years starred in summer seasons, pantomimes. cabaret and plays. His most recent production show was the musical ‘Oliver!’ in which he played his favourite role, Fagin.

Top Girls by Caryl Churchill : 21st – 25th October 2008
A 1980’s play with a theme that remains central to the challenges faced by working women today. High Flyer Marlene hosts a dinner party to celebrate becoming Managing Director of the Top Girls Recruitment Agency. She invites prominent female figures from history as her guests and as dinner is served, each recounts her struggles and achievements. As the evening progresses, we see cracks revealed in Marlene’s perfect life. A fascinating production which takes a graphic look at the perennial quest for career and life fulfilment.

A Few Good Men by Aaron Sorkin : 25th – 29th November 2008
Set in Guantanomo Bay, Cuba in the 1990s, the play examines themes of duty, honour and patriotism in the US Marine Force. Through following the progress of a court martial, the audience watches the gradual uncovering of high-level conspiracy in the US forces and is left questioning the nature of justice.

The Secret Garden : 15th – 18th and 21st – 24th January 2009
The Secret Garden is a beautiful family musical, based on Francis Hodgson-Burnett’s story of lonely orphan Mary Lennox who comes to live with her Uncle in isolated Mislethwaite Manor following the death of her parents. Through Mary’s discovery of a “secret” garden, the magical powers of nature are released, transforming the lives of all who reside at Mislethwaite.
