Well, the roof finally went on over the last couple of days. There is still some work to do on it, but we are (nearly!) dry.
The first picture today is the dance studio - Last posting, it was a pool. Now the floor is still damp, but the water has gone and the windows and roof are in evidence. Obviously, once the ceiling and wall coverings are in, you wont see the beams, etc.
Staying upstairs, we now turn round and look along the landing from the door of the dance studio.
On the left is the stairwell and beside that you can see the beginning of the wall which will have a large glass section so you can look out of our huge new feature window! The entrance to the lift will be on the right behind Sarah.
Now we move along to the office and meeting room…
Back downstairs now and stop at the bottom to look back up…
Finally, we are in the lounge and you can (just) see the workmen installing the framework for the suspended ceiling.
This was taken at about 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon - hope you’re impressed!

Well, the downstairs doors and windows are in! Upstairs will follow next week.
This is the paddling pool - sorry, I mean the dance studio…
I’m sure it will look better when the roof goes on at the end of this week!
Seriously, it’s going to be a lovely space.
At the other end of the first floor is the office and kitchen…
The picture doesn’t do it justice. It will be a great small area for meetings and for the storage of all our archives.
And there is a great view out of the window…
At the moment, everything is on schedule. (!) By the end of next week we should have a roof and all the doors and windows so the building will be enclosed and secure. Our ‘internal’ builder has started work along with his electricians & plumbers and all is moving forward.
Very soon will come the plea for the cleaning parties…

Good news - Patrick is out of hospital. (But we’re not going to let him near the place again yet!)
Some boring internal pictures for you this week…
First one is the new ‘hole’ in the rear wall of the stage through to the set building workshop. Eventually, this will have sliding doors across…
Next are a couple of views of the area under the stage near the old costume store. The first is looking towards the rear and the door through to a new storage area. The second is taken from that new doorway looking back at the old under stage area. First on the left is the entrance to another new storage room (The bit that used to be only 2 ft deep!) and beyond that is the entrance to stairs which drop down to the new costume store and then to stairs up to the lounge.
Finally, the old Red Room showing the new incoming electrical supply (source of so much earlier hassle) - as you can see, we will have to relocate the sink!
