Cotswold Playhouse

The footings are now complete and on 17th August the first of the blockwork for the lounge walls was laid.  This photo, taken on 14th August, shows the completed footings for the lower ground floor.  The pipe jutting through the wall on the far right hand side is where the new electricity supply cable will enter the building.  Beyond and above the far wall is where the lounge will be.  The large black pipe on the LHS is the main outlet drain. 

The last underpinning is just finishing. In this photo, you can see the new retaining wall holding up the foundations under the bottom of the old tower…

In the next picture, we can see the footings being dug out. Concrete will be poured in here as a base and the trench will continue to the right along the edge of the pavement.

The next picture is take under the stage looking towards that part (behind the brick pillar) that used to be only 2 feet high! This will form part of our much needed new storage space.

… and finally… the remains of the old main electricity feed cable to the theatre the removal of which has held us up for so long!
